About Jennifer Free's Web
Please sign in to see more. Hello to all who visit this site. I trust you have a wonderful journey through my family and there many branches. I was born Jennifer Teresa Mizen and began my journey into my family tree when my father passed away. The family had many stories about different things from the passed. On doing some research I found that many of these where correct but some of the details had become muddled. I decided to research the family tree. I held a family reunion of my imediate relatives in Western Australia finding descendants of my great uncles on the way. I now have contact with members of the families of all my great uncles including the one who remained in the UK. In 1997 I visited the small village of Helions Bumpstead, Essex, England where my great Grandfather and his family lived. It was a fascinating journey, I met several 3rd cousins and their families, who lived in Birmingham and Lincoln. The Myson/Mizon/Mizen lived in Helions from 1753 when John Myson married Mary Edwards. In 2005 I again made a visit to Essex meeting more Mizen cousins and getting more of the family history. My husband and myself where even guests at a family wedding. The bride Claire Barker had come to Australia during a back packing holiday and stayed with us and our family in Kalgoorlie WA. In March 2007 I held another family reunion and found a member of the branch of the family who had gone to Isle of Man. This was very exciting as the family story was proven to be correct and I had finally found the link. Eric Mizen gave me a copy of the family tree back to Wylliam and Elyzabeth Myssyn mid 1500's. I owe Eric and another distant cousin Neville a great thank you for providing me with this information. I have done some research into the name Myson/Mizon/Mizen and found that it goes back to a place name in Belgium. Further research is required as their is a story that the family was Jewish and was from Yugoslavia. However my research is still a work in progress and I will place new information on the site as it comes to hand.
